Module 2 · State, access and delivery · Lesson 8
Environments and delivery for agents
Shipping a prompt, model or gateway change to a fleet with hundreds of cases in flight. What a release contains, preview environments with database branches and capped keys, eval gates in CI and how much they can detect, gradual rollouts by customer and case, and what happens to work already running.
By the end of this lesson you can
- Define an agent release as code, prompts, model IDs, tool schemas and gateway config, versioned together
- Build a preview environment per pull request with a database branch, a capped gateway key and isolated queues and workflows
- Compute what an eval gate can and cannot detect, and write gate rules that block real regressions
- Plan a gradual rollout for agents that aren't driven by browser traffic, using flags, shadow runs and rolling releases
- Decide what happens to in-flight workflows and queued messages on deploy and on rollback
