Module 1 · Reading real-world documents · Lesson 1
What a real case file contains
The documents a real case file actually contains, the properties of each that decide how it must be ingested, and the record an ingest pipeline should produce for every page.
By the end of this lesson you can
- Inventory a case file by document type, issuer, origin and the facts agents need from each
- Explain why a PDF's text layer can be missing, wrong or out of order, and detect each case per page in Python
- Design the classify-and-split step that turns compound PDFs and email threads into individual documents
- Define the per-document and per-page record that every later stage reads and writes
