Module 2 · The Jev API · Lesson 5
State and decomposition
How to shape the state you send Jev, break broad judgments into atomic questions, keep dates, arithmetic and counting in code, and defend against content that tries to steer the answer.
By the end of this lesson you can
- Choose between string, object and array state, and point questions at nested fields with backtick paths
- Filter a large record down to the context a question needs, and explain why irrelevant detail costs accuracy
- Decompose a broad judgment into atomic Noul, Choice and Score questions and combine the answers in code
- Move dates, arithmetic and counting out of the model, using enumerated date parts and one question per item
- Recognise injected instructions in state and design mitigations, and use extract-then-select when you need a value
